The tasks are designed to help students and residents gain proficiency with different types of suture, instruments, different types of knots, various suturing techniques, finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. - Intermediate Open Knot-Tying and Suturing Skills Training Program
The Intermediate Open Knot-Tying and Suturing Skills Training Program is a series of 6 commonly used knot-tying and suturing techniques. The exercises are designed to help students and residents gain proficiency with more advanced types of knot-tying and suturing. - Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) Training Program
The Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) Training Program is a series of 5 laparoscopic tasks designed to help students and residents develop proficiency with laparoscopic instruments. The tasks focus on training hand-eye coordination, using the non-dominant hand, functioning in a 3-dimensional space while viewing a 2-dimensional display, overcoming the fulcrum effect, and managing the differences in tactile (haptic) feedback. - Flexible Endoscopy Curriculum
The Flexible Endoscopy Curriculum is a series of 2 endoscopic tasks designed to help students and residents develop proficiency with endoscopic instruments.
